Keto Sonoran Dogs (Bacon-Wrapped + Fully Loaded!)
If you’ve never tried a Sonoran dog — get ready. This keto version brings all the bold flavors of the classic bacon-wrapped hot dog, but skips the carbs with a low-carb bun and sugar-free toppings. It’s juicy, messy, salty, fresh, and just the right amount of creamy.
Perfect for cookouts, weeknight dinners, or game day bites — this recipe is simple, fast, and oh-so-satisfying.
Ingredients (Serves 4):
4 keto-friendly hot dog buns (I use Keto Culture brand – 1 net carb each)
4 all-beef hot dogs
4 slices bacon
½ cup pico de gallo
¼ cup Cotija cheese, crumbled
2 tbsp mayonnaise (for bun base)
2 tbsp mayonnaise (for drizzling on top)
2 tbsp mustard
Instructions:
Wrap each hot dog with a slice of bacon.
Pan-fry over medium heat until bacon is crisp and hot dogs are fully heated through (about 8–10 minutes). Turn occasionally for even cooking.
Warm or lightly toast your keto-friendly hot dog buns.
Add about ½ tablespoon of mayo to the inside of each bun.
Place a bacon-wrapped hot dog into each bun.
Top with 2 tablespoons of pico de gallo and 1 tablespoon Cotija cheese per dog.
Drizzle with about ½ tablespoon each of mayo, mustard, and if desired, sugar-free ketchup in a zig-zag pattern across the top.
